What is a LACCDB file?

Files that contain the LACCDB file extension are files that have been created by the Microsoft Access database software application. Only the 2007 and later versions of Access program use the .laccdb file format.

The LACCDB file is locking files that allow multiple users to share the same Access file without the risk of accidental overwrites or deletions. When an ACCDB file is opened and another user tries to open the same file, a locked version of the file will be created. This allows the user to see the file but prevents them from making changes. This locked file is saved with the .laccdb file suffix. The locked file is then deleted after a user closes the file within the database program.
